After hundreds of rockets from Palestinian terrorists hit Southern Israel since last weekend, Israel in self-defence has launched what it dubs “Operation Pillar of Defence” in the Gaza Strip. Since the rocket attacks began, three Israeli citizens have been killed and many wounded.

• Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the Gaza attacks by saying no government should tolerate such terrorism.
